In 1935, the pool was carved out of a hillside by the New York chapter of The Nature Friends who owned what was then called Camp Midvale. In 1997 the pool was sub-divided from the former Camp property and today the pool is a 501(c)3 non-profit community-owned and operated facility.

Listed as one of "The 21 Places in New Jersey You Need to Visit in 2021," and named the best swimming hole in New Jersey, this Olympic-sized, stream-fed swimming pool is located in a scenic wooded setting adjacent to Norvin Green State Forest in Ringwood, NJ. No chemicals are used in the pool.

Day passes can be purchased at the entrance. We accept cash and credit cards for both entry fees and refreshments ($5.00 minimum to charge).
